This handcrafted Spirit Pony Raku figurine represents a symbol of freedom and in Native American traditions the Horse totem is a lesson in power. Each Pony has a copper wire mane and tail. Its eye is turquoise.
Raku pottery is created using an ancient Japanese technique of firing which produces the diverse crackling aspects unique to each piece.
Raku pottery is formed from raw clay. It is painted by hand, then fired in an outdoor kiln to 2,000 degrees. Red hot, it is plunged into a pit with mesquite shavings lighting a blaze. The flames engulfing this piece of art give it its unique flashes of color and crackle, making it one-of-a-kind. "Only the strongest survive the trial by fire."
